SCHEDULE/DETAILS: Saint Albert the Great Summer Festival Runs Through June 22

North Baldwin Borough folks have known for years how "Great" Saint Albert the Great Catholic Parish's annual summer festival is. And you can know, too, if you get to the event by the final day this Saturday.

The celebration is running nightly at the parish grounds along Churchview Avenue through June 22 from 7 to 10:30, but a dinner at the grounds' old school building precedes the festival each day from 4 to 6:30.

Dinners cost $9 per person, except Saturday's $10 outdoor barbecue. Here are the remaining dinner menus (takeout available):
+ Tuesday - "A Taste of Germany" - pork, sauerkraut, applesauce, mashed potatoes, rolls & butter, dessert
+ Wednesday - "A Taste of Poland" - stuffed cabbage in tomato sauce, mashed potatoes, tossed salad, rolls & butter, dessert
+ Thursday - "A Taste of Italy" - spaghetti & meatballs, Caesar salad, garlic bread, dessert
+ Friday - "Catch of the Day" - fish sandwich, French fries, coleslaw, macaroni & cheese, dessert
+ Saturday - "Chef Steve's Outdoor Bar-B-Que" - chicken or ribs, coleslaw, baked beans

The festival features a special attraction, or attractions, every night:
+ Tuesday - DJ Steve Maffei Jr
+ Wednesday - Baldwin Independent Fire Company No. 1 free bucket rides for kids (big kids and small kids); unicyclist performance
+ Thursday - petting zoo and pony rides (7-9); face-painting
+ Friday - Michael Christopher Band
+ Saturday - DJ videos; grand prize and special raffle drawings

Available every night:
+ amusement rides provided by LAM Enterprises (open to everyone)
+ tag sale
+ food booths, including a bake sale
+ 50-50 raffle
+ Chinese auction (including lottery and cash trees and a "wheelbarrow of cheer")
+ instant bingo
+ traditional bingo
+ deejay
