See How This Local Boy Landed a Prom Date
The Baldwin track & field athlete had a little help from his friends.
He may not have had to go to such great lengths, but after he did, it was sure hard for her to say no.
Going great lengths is nothing new for Jared Mott, though, or for his future prom date, for that matter. Both are distance runners on the Baldwin High School track & field team. And now both are headed to Baldwin's 2013 Junior Prom—together.
With a little (more like a lot) of help from his teammates, Mott, an 11th-grader, asked 10th-grader Stephanie Bott to the prom during track practice on Thursday at Baldwin Stadium.

Their teammates—boys and girls—spelled out the word "Prom?" on the stadium turf for an unaware Bott to see while Mott took her to the top of the stadium bleachers. Assistant Coach Jacqueline Rodgers witnessed the event and had the student-athletes recreate the word on the stadium track for a photo that she shared on Facebook.
For Rodgers' photo, Mott and Bott stood arms-across-back in the middle of the "O."
