UPDATE: A flash flood watch has been issued from 10 p.m. Wednesday night through 6 p.m. Thursday.

Meteorologists are watching a storm system that could bring damaging winds, large hail and more than 2 inches of rain to the Baldwin-Whitehall area on Wednesday.

The National Weather Service reported to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that it is too soon to predict how the storm is going to affect the Pittsburgh area, but there's a chance for 60- to 70-mph wind gusts and possible flooding problems.

The thunderstorms and showers are likely for Baldwin-Whitehall after 3 p.m.

A Duquesne Light spokesperson told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that customers should have water, flashlights, batteries and candles on hand, plus a first-aid kit and a supply of prescription medicine.
