Whitehall, Baldwin and Carrick Men Arrested for DUIs in Baldwin Borough

Whitehall Borough Man
Thomas Paul Englert, 63, of 3001 Provost Rd. in , was pulled over by a police officer near the intersection of Becks Run Road and Susquehanna Street in north Baldwin at around 12:01 a.m. on Saturday for driving erratically on Becks Run, according to the officer's report.Â
The officer said that he smelled alcohol when he approached Englert's vehicle and put him through field-sobriety tests, which he failed, before arresting him for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Englert was taken to , where the officer said that he failed a breath-analyzer test. He was eventually taken home and released.Â

Matthew P. Braddock, 29, of 5453 Youngridge Dr., Apt. 23, in Baldwin Borough's , was pulled over by a Baldwin police officer in front of his residence at around 3:01 a.m. on Saturday for failing to obey a stop sign at the intersection of Keeport Drive and Knoedler Road.
The officer said that he smelled alcohol when he approached Braddock's vehicle. He also said that Braddock admitted to recently drinking alcohol. The officer put Braddock through field-sobriety tests, which he failed, before arresting him for suspicion of DUI.
Braddock was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for a blood test—results pending—before eventually being taken home and released.
Carrick Man
George Ronald Marszalek, 44, of 524 Maytide St. in Pittsburgh's Carrick neighborhood, was pulled over by a Baldwin police officer near the intersection of Mountain Avenue and Schuler Street on the border of the Mt. Oliver and St. Clair neighborhoods at around 11:07 p.m. on Sunday for driving erratically on Becks Run and on Mountain.
The officer said that he smelled alcohol when he approached Marszalek's vehicle. He also said that Marszalek admitted to recently drinking alcohol. The officer put Marszalek through field-sobriety tests, which he failed, before arresting him for suspicion of DUI.
Marszalek refused to be subjected to a breath-analyzer test, nor did he allow for his blood to be drawn.
He was eventually taken to his sister's residence—also on Maytide—and turned over to her custody.
