• Battle continues between Pulaski Township board and residents over police (beavercountyradio.com) — Pulaski Township residents are still pushing back against supervisors’ plans to leave New Brighton police coverage for Beaver Valley Regional in 2027, after a contract oversight forced them to stay with New Brighton through 2026. New Brighton’s police chief also warned that their radio system, shared with nearby towns like Beaver Falls but separate from Beaver Valley’s, could complicate emergency responses if coverage changes.
• 19-year-old to graduate SIU with aviation management degree (siu.edu) — A 19-year-old Imperial resident is finishing his aviation management degree through Southern Illinois University’s off-campus program hosted at Community College of Beaver County in Beaver Falls. His fast-track path combined dual-enrollment in high school, intensive weekend classes near Pittsburgh, and strong family and faith support, and he’s already working toward becoming a certified flight instructor and pursuing a master’s degree.
