$220K PECO Project Underway In Bensalem
PECO informed its Bensalem customers that the project is expected to be completed sometime next month.
BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — A major PECO project is underway in the township that is expected to be completed by mid-December.
PECO alerted customers that the $220,000 project will enhance the local electric distribution system with upgrades that will help withstand more frequent and damaging storms, improve reliability by reducing the frequency of outages that cannot be prevented, and support the adoption of cleaner energy resources such as solar and electric vehicles.
Construction began earlier this month and is expected to be completed on Dec. 12.

PECO said the work will focus on Clusters Turn, Wrexham Court, Bainbridge Court, and Gloucester Court.
PECO outlined what residents may witness during the project:

- A machine will be used to install new conduit as well as new underground electrical cable throughout your neighborhood.
- Any impacted portions of yards or streets will be restored to their prior condition.
- New equipment, including pad-mount transformers could be installed or replaced as necessary.
- These devices are necessary to improve reliability throughout neighborhoods and require several feet of clearance to allow for future maintenance.
The work will be performed by PECO crews and qualified PECO contractors. PECO has also developed a plan to minimize direct customer impact as much as possible..
PECO said that crews may temporarily interrupt service to safely complete the work.
