In the four-minute video, Mathieu cheers and dances as family gathered around her claps their hands.
She opened Columbia first because she’d received a letter, she says in the video. Next came Dartmouth, where she was waitlisted.
And then came Cornell, Brown, Yale, and UPenn.
"I thought I was gonna have a heart attack," Victoria told Fox 29 Philadelphia.
The congratulations have poured in recognizing Mathieu's impressive accomplishment.
"Congratulations BHS senior Victoria Mathieu on your acceptance to five Ivy League schools," the Bensalem School District stated.
"This news is wonderful for our district, but it comes as no surprise given the exceptional students we have in Bensalem," School Director Marc Cohen said. "Our staff every day is there for our kids."
“I have known Tori and her family since she was just a baby. These achievements and blessings are no surprise to those who have watched her grow into the truly brilliant and motivated young woman she is today. When people think about Bensalem High School they do not imagine an academic powerhouse. But every year we have multiple students who are accepted into the Ivy Leagues and the other elite schools, including another young woman with five Ivy’s just in 2023. Our community is so proud to be home to such talented kids who will undoubtedly change our world,” School Director Stephanie A. Gonzalez Ferrandez said. "To be clear, this is about Tori, as well as the orher kids, and her accomplishments — not the school district."
The Bucks County NAACP also congratulated Mathieu, along with the Legal Aid of Southeastern PA.
"Congratulations to Victoria. Best wishes in all that you do," the organization said, thanking her for her volunteer work as an intern at its Doylestown office last summer.
The agency said that "Tori" worked with Katrina Ihrer, Doylestown Managing Attorney, on dependency cases.
Mathieu told Fox 29 Philadelphia that she is leaning toward Yale as decision day looms.
"It’s not like I could’ve worked harder. I laid everything out on the table. I was proud of the work I submitted," she told the TV news station.
