BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA — A 42-year-old township man is being held on $1 million bail after being charged with having child pornography images that he allegedly traded with others, police said.

John Breslin is being held on $1 million bail on charges of the dissemination of child pornography, possession of child pornography, and criminal use of a communication facility.

In late June, the Bensalem Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division began investigating a series of social media accounts that were flagged by the National Center for Missing Exploitation (NCMEC) as being involved in the trading of child pornography.

Police said the accounts were heavily involved in the sharing of child pornography over several months, and among the dozens of images shared or received by Breslin were depictions of prepubescent children, as young as 4 or 5, being sexually assaulted.

The social media accounts’ contents also included messaging threads between Breslin and other users in which they fantasized about engaging in sexual acts with minors, police said.

Police traced the social media activity from all of the accounts to a particular address in Bensalem Township.

On Wednesday, Bensalem Police executed a search warrant in the 3600 block of Kingston Way.

Breslin admitted to police that he created and used the accounts, police said.

Breslin was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Joseph P. Falcone, and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility.
