Bensalem Schools Closing For Eagles Super Bowl Parade
The Bensalem Township School District did not have Friday as an off day previously for the Presidents Day weekend like other districts.
BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —For many school districts in the Philadelphia region, Friday was a scheduled off day for a four-day weekend going into the federal Presidents Day holiday.
The Bensalem Township School District, though, wasn't one of them.
But now students will be off Friday to allow anyone to attend Friday's Super Bowl parade for the Philadelphia Eagles' victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

"All BTSD schools will be closed on Friday in consideration of the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles celebration," school officials said.
While schools are closed, all buildings and offices will remain open, and after-school activities will take place as scheduled.

The day will be made up at the end of the school year.
Before the decision, School Director Stephanie Gonzalez Ferrandez had explained the process.
She posted on a Bensalem Facebook community page that the school district couldn't use a remote day since that is designated for weather only. She said that the schools superintendent and administration would make the decision, not the school board.
