Bucks Co. COVID Cases Drop To 20 Per Day
The number of new coronavirus cases reported in the county on Monday was its lowest three-day total since March.
BUCKS COUNTY, PA — New cases of the coronavirus over the past three days in Bucks County dropped to an average of 20 cases per day — the county's lowest three-day number in more than two months.
The Bucks County Department of Health reported 26 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday. Case reporting was not done on Sunday and the two-day total reported on Monday was 34.

"We are now meeting Gov. Wolf’s original metric to move to yellow when we use symptom onset date, as opposed to case report date," said Dr. David Damsker, director of the county health department. "We are the only county in the area to have collected this piece of data on our cases."
The three-day total for new infections in Bucks County was the lowest since March 22-24, when there were 54 new cases reported.

Wolf's original metric required areas to have no more than 50 new infections per day for every 100,000 residents over a 14-day period. In Bucks County, that amounted to about 22 cases per day.
Bucks County and the rest of the counties still under the plan's most restrictive red phase are scheduled to move to yellow on Friday.
Nine new deaths from the coronavirus were reported over the past three days. All had underlying health conditions, seven were residents of long-term care facilities and all but one were over 70, officials said.
Of the 60 new infections reported in Bucks County, just 10 were attributed to pure community spread. Another 15 were the result of household contact, 12 were from workplace contact, 12 were residents or staff at long-term care facilities, two were at other healthcare settings, one was a jail inmate and eight people were unable to be immediately contacted.
Ninety people in Bucks County remained hospitalized with the virus on Monday, with 18 of them in critical condition and on ventilators.
The county has had a total of 4,819 confirmed cases of the virus, with 460 deaths. A total of 1,597 people have been confirmed to have recovered.
