Graduating High School Seniors - FREE Pre-Apprenticeship Training in Skilled Trades Gets You on the Direct Path to an Amazing Career!

What an exciting time of year - a big congratulations to all high school graduates! There many different paths to choose after high school graduation. Why not consider training through Bucks? This July, Bucks will open a brand-new, state-of-the-art training facility – The Center for Advanced Technologies – which will offer recent grads and job seekers access to high quality career training programs in advanced manufacturing and other programs. The new facility will provide students with an up-to-the-minute, high-tech learning environment and will house trainings to fill the growing need for skilled workers in Bucks County. Stay tuned as new Welding and Trades Programs will be introduced throughout the year! Classes are FREE for those who qualify.
This is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of free training in your area of interest. Bucks’ graduates in Metalwork and Industrial Maintenance enter directly into a career or an apprenticeship program. Enrolled participants ages 18-24 may be eligible for additional benefits enabling them to achieve even greater financial success. Graduates earn twelve college credits towards Bucks’ Engineering Tech two-year degree - a great way to save time and money!

New cohorts of Metalwork (machinist training), Industrial Maintenance (electro-mechanical technician), Microsoft Office Technology & Customer Service Specialist (administrative/office positions) and Bookkeeping with QuickBooks Certification (Bookkeeper positions) will get underway starting in August of 2022, so take a look at www.Bucks.edu/wfd for more information. The Metalwork Pre-Apprenticeship 12-week Training Program includes theory as well as hands-on skills training, and introduces participants to the fundamental concepts and skills required to be a machinist in the field of advanced manufacturing. The average starting salary for this program is $20/hour plus benefits with a 90% job placement rate. The next cohort starts August 1, 2022. The Industrial Maintenance Pre-Apprenticeship Training Program: in 12 weeks, participants can train for a new career with an average starting salary of $21/hour plus benefits with a 90% job placement rate. The program includes theory and hands-on skills training and introduces participants to the fundamental concepts and skills required by electro-mechanical technicians who combine knowledge of mechanical technology with knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits. The next training cohort starts September 12, 2022. Information sessions are August 11 or 18.
The Microsoft Office Technology & Customer Service Specialist Training is an 8-week, online course designed to give participants the skills necessary to work effectively in any business environment with the perfect combination of technical and essential soft skills. Students will be taught by industry experts and will be matched with a Career Coach who will work with them on finding their next career opportunity. The next training starts October 24, 2022.
Bookkeeping with QuickBooks is a 7-week, accelerated program designed to give participants experience with accounting, QuickBooks and Excel. Students will be taught by industry experts and will be matched with a Career Coach who will work with them on finding a career. Training is online and starts September 6, 2022.
