Fundraiser for Bensalem Cheerleaders, Canceled Circus Today in Bensalem

- The TCBY Frozen Yogurt shop located in the Neshaminy Mall is hosting a fundraiser today for the Bensalem High School cheerleading team. Between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m., a portion of all sales will benefit the squad.
- The Cirque Italia has canceled all of its shows scheduled at the Neshaminy Mall for the next two weekends. A spokesperson with the show said tour dates have been revised. No reason was given for the cancellation.
- The Senate on Wednesday approved a bipartisan deal that ensures lower interest rates on loans for students heading to college this fall, CNN reports. Senators voted 81 to 18 to lower interest rates for undergraduates taking out government loans this school year to 3.86 percent -- cheaper than the 6.8 percent interest rate that kicked in on July 1.Â
