Man Charged In 21 Burglaries After High-Speed Bensalem Chase
He hit speeds of more than 100 mph when Bensalem Police tried to detain him after a traffic stop this month.

BENSALEM, PA — A man who led police in Bensalem on a chase at speeds of more than 100 mph has been arrested and charged in the burglaries of 21 businesses in Bucks County, including two in Bensalem.
David Anthony Andrauskas, 37, of Philadelphia, is accused of breaking into, or trying to break into, businesses in Bensalem, Bristol, Newtown, New Hope, Middletown and Upper Makefield between Jan. 12 and Feb. 8, when he was arrested at his home.
Andrauskas's arrest came several hours after he fled an early-morning traffic stop. According to police, his 2001 Honda Accord hit speeds of more than 100 mph during the chase that followed.

Police say he drove away after officers identified him as matching the description of the man wanted in a Bensalem burglary three days earlier and tried to detain him.
It was after his arrest that Andrauskas was implicated in a second Bensalem burglary, then numerous break-ins and thefts from businesses elsewhere in the county.

Prosecutors say Andrauskas usually would break into businesses in the early-morning hours then break open cash registers, leaving with the cash from inside them. He made off with $2,000 from one business, but most of the burglaries yielded far less cash, or none at all, authorities say.
Andrausksas is charged with burglary or attempted burglary of the following businesses:
- Bensalem: Belly Busters, Feb. 5. Brodie's Ice Cream, Feb. 4
- Bristol Borough: Annabella's Restaurant, Feb. 6. Chuck’s BBQ, Feb. 6
- Middletown Township: CJ Nails, Feb. 8. Giovanni's Pizza, Feb. 8. Maple Deli, Jan. 28
- Upper Makefield Township: Dominick's Pizza, Feb. 4
- Newtown Borough: Shoe Cafe, Jan. 12. Clark's Florist, Jan. 18. Studio 35 Salon, Jan. 23
- Newtown Township: Green Straw, Feb. 1. Newtown Pizza, Feb. 1. Be Bronzed, Feb. 1. Bella Med Spa, Feb. 1
- New Hope: Last Temptation, Jan. 21. Phantasm Comics, Jan. 25. Lion's Den, Jan. 31. Surrender, Jan. 31. Night Bird Vintage, Jan. 31. Jaffron, Jan. 31
Andrauskas is scheduled to appear before District Judge Michael W. Gallagher for a preliminary hearing on March 23. He has been held in lieu of bail since his Feb. 8 arrest.
