Route 1 Paving Planned Overnight This Week

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said that paving is scheduled overnight this week on U.S. 1 in Bensalem and Middletown townships under a $116 million project to reconstruct, widen, and improve a three-mile section of U.S. 1 in Bucks County.

Drivers are advised of the following travel restrictions:

• Sunday, July 13, through Friday, July 18, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following morning, lane closures will be in place on U.S. 1 in both directions between Fairhill Avenue and the Pennsylvania Turnpike Interchange.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur.

All scheduled activities are weather-dependent.

The work is part of PennDOT’s U.S. 1/RC2 contract that will reconstruct and widen U.S. 1 from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange.
