Route 1 Project Construction Continues Overnight This Week

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Construction continues this week on the Route 1 Traffic Improvements Project, PennDOT said.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said that construction is scheduled next week on U.S. 1 and Rockhill Drive in Bensalem and Middletown townships under a $116 million project to reconstruct, widen, and improve a three-mile section of the highway.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur.

The work is part of PennDOT’s U.S. 1/RC2 contract that will reconstruct and widen U.S. 1 from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange.
