Route 1 Traffic Improvements Planned This Week
PennDOT said Intelligent Transportation System construction takes place in Bensalem and Middletown townships starting Monday.

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA —Construction takes place this week on the Route 1 Traffic Improvements Project.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said that Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) construction is planned for Route 1 in Bensalem and Middletown townships under PennDOT’s $116 million project to reconstruct, widen, and improve a three-mile section of the highway.

- Monday, Feb. 24, through Thursday, Feb. 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., periodic lane closures will be in place on U.S. 1 in both directions between Rockhill Drive and Fairhill Avenue for the removal of temporary ITS equipment.
The work is part of PennDOT’s U.S. 1/RC2 contract that will reconstruct and widen U.S. 1 from south of the Rockhill Drive Interchange to north of the Penndel/Business U.S. 1 Interchange.
