When is the First Day of School?
Find out when the notable days are for the 2013-2014 school year.

It may be hard to believe, but the start of the new school year is only a month away. The Bensalem School District returns to the classroom Sept. 3 for grades kindergarten through 12th. All schools are closed on Sept. 5 and 6 for Rosh Hashanah, then back again on Sept. 9.
Here's the rest of the 2013-2014Â school year at a glance:
- Oct. 10:Â Professional development day; schools closed, office open
- Nov. 5:Â All schools closed for in-service/Election Day.
- Nov. 11:Â Veterans' Day, schools closed.
- Nov. 26:Â Elementary schools closed for report card conferences; half-day for middle and high schools
- Nov. 27-29:Â Thanksgiving break
- Dec. 12: Half-day for all students
- Dec. 23-Jan. 1, 2014:Â Christmas break
- Jan. 2, 2014:Â Classes resume
- Jan. 9, 2014:Â Half-day for all students
- Jan. 20, 2014:Â Schools closed, Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- Feb. 17, 2014:Â Schools closed, President's Day
- April 7, 2014:Â No school for kindergarten and first grade, conferences
