The Water Authority discovered the water main break around 4 p.m. Tuesday at Colony Drive and Ruch Road, west of Airport Road, according to The Express-Times.

Water Authority officials reported the break was near a large transmission main leading into Bethlehem, The Express-Times said. The broken water main caused sediment to stir up, causing the murky, cloudy water, Water Authority officials said.

The Express-Times said customers were advised to use as little water as possible to reduce the overall flow, allowing the silt to resettle, and water quality should return to normal after several hours. Customers were notified by the Water Authority that the cloudy water was still safe to drink.

The Express-Times reported water conditions were improved Wednesday morning.
