Bryn Mawr Salon's Scissors to Cut Ludington Ribbon

is donating scissors to cut the ceremonial ribbon at 's Sept. 8 .

The modern-looking scissors match the look of the new library, said Shear Touch owner Carol Smith.

The library's reopening is happening during the second annual Bryn Mawr Day celebration. The Shear Touch will have balloon animals outside the salon, and will also have an Alex's Lemonade Stand as they did last year.

"I met her a long time ago before she passed away," Smith said of Alexandra "Alex" Scott, the Wynnewood girl who started the national foundation. "She was really inspiring. She accomplished in four years what most people take a lifetime to do."

Smith is also involved with the American Cancer Society and in the Look Good... Feel Better program in the Greater Philadelphia area.

Smith is one of several in the community who have been making sure other businesses know about the Sept. 8 Bryn Mawr Day activities.

"We've been working on it a long time," Smith said of the preparations. "It's sort of pulled the town together... It's been a very rewarding experience."
