False Alarm: It Wasn't the Measles, Health Department Says
The public was warned after an individual thought to have the disease had visited the Please Touch Museum and a Main Line pharmacy.

False alarm, the Pennsylvania Department of Health says: Tests for the measles came back negative.
The Health Department earlier this week warned people of a “possible public exposure to the measles,” which it said had occurred at:
- CVS Pharmacy, 316 E. Lancaster Avenue, Wayne, Pa.: Sunday, Dec. 28, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
- Please Touch Museum, Memorial Hall, Fairmount Park, 4231 Avenue of the Republic, Philadelphia, Pa.: Monday, Dec. 29, from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
However, tests have shown that the person who the Health Department said “likely has measles” in fact does not, The Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

“Based on initial information received from those involved in the treatment of the individual and based on initial investigation by the department, it was believed this was a likely case of measles and public notification was made out of an abundance of caution,” Health Secretary Michael Wolf said, according to the Inquirer.
