2. 'THE COMPANY MEN,' 'POETRY' AND 'EVEN THE RAIN'

When/where: Starts Friday at the 

Why Go: In the typical annual post-awards-shows slump, check out some great films that are now playing in town.

3. SOL Y CANTO

When/where: 8 p.m. Friday, McPherson Auditorium, Goodhart Hall,

Why Go: Nationally recognized Latin roots music group Sol y Canto is bringing live music to town as part of Bryn Mawr College’s Performing Arts Series.

Cost: $20 general public, $18 seniors, $10 students, free for Bryn Mawr students

4. 17th ANNUAL STREAMWATCH CENSUS

When/where: 9 a.m. Saturday, West Mill Creek Park, Mill Creek and Old Gulph Roads, Gladwyne

Why Go: Volunteer to help the Lower Merion Conservancy better understand the water quality of Mill Creek by collecting samples of aquatic life, including crayfish, water pennies and worms. Pack a lunch, and head out in warm clothes and rubber wading boots.

5. MUSIC IN THE AFTERNOON

When/where: 3 p.m. Sunday, Gladwyne United Methodist Church
