Gladwyne Resident Facing Cocaine-Related Charges Takes Plea Deal

Gladwyne resident Alan Kirsch Jr.—who was facing 27 felony and misdemeanor charges in connection with a 2011 cocaine bust—has pleaded guilty to three charges of possession of drug paraphernalia for a total of two years probation.
allegedly run out of barbershop Heads Up in Tredyffrin; he had faced felony charges of corrupt organization, possession of cocaine, criminal conspiracy, criminal use of telecommunications facilities and dealing in the proceeds of criminal activities.
Kirsch initially at his formal arraignment last August.

Three of the drug possession charges facing Kirsch were changed to paraphernalia possession charges—Kirsch was sentenced to one year of probation for each, with two running consecutively and one running concurrently for a total of two years' probation, said Montgomery County Assistant District Attorney Jason Whalley, who is the lead prosecutor on the Heads Up case. All other charges against Kirsch were dropped.
Kirsch took the plea deal on May 1, Whalley said.

"After reviewing the case, we felt it was appropriate," Whalley said. "He's a drug user."
Kirsch's lawyer, Vincent P. DiFabio, said he found the terms of the plea "extremely favorable" to his client.
"It certainly represents the true facts of the matter—he was being portrayed as a drug dealer, so we were satisfied it was resolved in this manner," DiFabio said. "This was the appropriate disposition in this case."
