Harriton Teacher Named 'All-Pro Teacher' In Tri State Area

Brian Gauvin's dedication to education and students earned a sizeable donation for the high school and Eagles tickets for himself. Congrats!

BRYN MAWR, PA – A Harriton High School chemistry teacher's dedication to education and students has earned him a tri-state honor as well as a sizeable donation for the high school.

Brian Gauvin, chemistry teacher and advisor of the Harriton Science Olympiad, was chosen as a 2017 Axalta All-Pro Teacher.

The program, which is sponsored by the Philadelphia Eagles and Axalta Coating Systems, recognizes outstanding teachers in the tri-state area for their contributions to their students, school and community.

As one of only 10 Axalta All-Pro Teachers in the 2017 class, Gauvin has earned a $2,000 donation for Harriton, which can be used for school supplies or programming; four tickets to an Eagles home game and a parking pass; a personalized replica Eagles jersey and football; and an invitation for four guests to attend the Breakfast Awards Ceremony, according to the Lower Merion School District.

  • Educational Drive: the teacher demonstrates a commitment to seeing all students excel in the classroom and supports colleagues within the school system
  • Innovation in the Classroom: the teacher demonstrates innovative ways of inspiring students through incorporating technology in the classroom as part of the learning process
  • Community Ownership: the teacher engages students outside the classroom via after-school programs, clubs, student government and/or athletics
