GLADWYNE, PA — Grocery shoppers will have a new option for their goods in the Gladwyne area, as a popular market chain is taking over the former Acme space.
McCaffrey's Food Market is moving into the old Acme building at 1025 Youngs Ford Road in Gladwyne.
According to the Philadelphia Business Journal, property group Alterra planned to turn the parcel into a three-story mixed-use building but scrapped those plans upon pushback by locals.

Ultimately, Alterra listened to residents and decided to keep the property as a grocery store, the outlet reports.
The new McCaffrey's location will mark the eight store in the region.
