New McCaffrey's In Gladwyne Gets Liquor License Transfer Approved

The Lower Merion Township Board of Commissioners Wednesday night approved a resolution allowing a liquor license transfer to the new market.

GLADWYNE, PA — The popular market chain McCaffrey's is expanding to Gladwyne, and it will offer alcohol sales.

That's thanks to the Lower Merion Township Board of Commissioners vote Wednesday.

The commissioners, as part of Wednesday's consent agenda, at Wednesday night's meeting approved the transfer of a liquor license to the new store in Gladwyne.

The company asked the township for approval to transfer a restaurant liquor license from the now-closed Grub Burger Bar in Montgomery Mall in North Wales to the new store, located at 1025 Youngsford Road in Gladwyne.

With the approval from Lower Merion commissioners, the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board will sign off on the transfer, per state liquor laws.

The new McCaffrey's includes dine-in and takeaway food available with service of alcoholic beverages to the public, including the sale/service of beer and/or wine for off premises consumption, according to the township.

An opening date has not been set.
