New McCaffrey's In Gladwyne Seeking Liquor License Transfer
The upcoming McCaffrey's Gladwyne will sell alcohol for on-site consumption and to go should it get the liquor license transfer approved.
GLADWYNE, PA — As the popular grocery chain McCaffrey's plans its expansion into Lower Merion Township, it is seeking to get a liquor licenses from another municipality transferred to it.
McCaffrey's is opening a new market at 1025 Youngsford Road in Gladwyne.
That site is the former Acme location that closed in 2019.

And the company is asking for the township to transfer a restaurant liquor license from the now-closed Grub Burger Bar in Montgomery Mall in North Wales.
The new McCaffrey's includes dine-in and takeaway food available with service of alcoholic beverages to the public, including the sale/service of beer and/or wine for off premises consumption, according to the township.

Lower Merion's Building and Planning Committee is holding a public hearing and resolution vote on approving the inter-municipal license transfer.
The township must approve the transfer prior to the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board signs off on the transfer, according to state liquor laws.
The committee will discuss the issue at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Second Floor Board Room of the Lower Merion Township Administration Building, 75 East Lancaster Ave. in Ardmore.
In-person public attendance is permitted at this meeting.
