Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry Gains EFDA

Harcum College's Director of Continuing & Professional Studies is reappointed by Governor Tom Wolf to serve a second six-year term.

Bryn Mawr, PA – March 12, 2018 – Chalfont, PA resident Theresa Groody, Director of Continuing and Professional Studies at Harcum College, was reappointed by Governor Tom Wolf to a second six-year term as a member of the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry. Groody was confirmed in 2011 for a first term by the Pennsylvania Senate and appointed by Governor Tom Corbett as the first Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) on the board.

As a board member, she will continue to chair the EFDA Committee and serve on the Scope of Practice Committee.

“The State Board of Dentistry plays a vital role in ensuring high levels of integrity and performance in the practice of dentistry and I look forward to continuing the board’s mission to protect the patients of the Commonwealth,” said Groody. “Many dental boards across the county invite auxiliaries to serve on the board, but Pennsylvania is one of the few that allows full voting rights for such members. I am extremely grateful and honored to serve on this board with such highly esteemed dental professionals.”
