Police Blotter: $60,000 in Precious Metals Stolen from Bryn Mawr Home

On Monday afternoon, Lower Merion police reported to news media the following incidents from the past week in Bryn Mawr and Gladwyne:
Theft from building: Jewelry, coins and silverware—worth about $60,000 in all—were stolen from a home sometime between Jan. 1 and March 21. The resident was hospitalized during that time, police said, and family members discovered the thefts afterward.
DUI: At 2:21 a.m. March 25 at Lancaster and Elliott avenues in Bryn Mawr, police pulled over Steven Reavis, 62, of the 4800 block of Tackawanna Street in Philadelphia. Police reported he was speeding, and after Reavis' blood alcohol content registered 0.13, he was charged with driving under the influence.

Public intoxication, underage drinking: Villanova student Michael Arias, 19, of Los Angeles was arrested at 12:57 a.m. March 21 at Lancaster Avenue and Bryn Mawr Avenue.
Public intoxication: Richard Chen, 21, of the 1600 block of Broad Street, Philadelphia, was arrested at 1:30 a.m. March 23 on the 900 block of Lancaster Avenue.

Public intoxication: Justin Payne, 21, of St. David's was arrested at 2:23 a.m. March 25 on the 1000 block of Lancaster Avenue.
