Preschool Services Proposed At Gladwyne Synagogue

The Lower Merion Township Zoning Hearing Board will consider the proposal from Beth David Reform Congregation at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20.

GLADWYNE, PA — A Lower Merion Township synagogue is looking to expand its offerings to include a preschool, but the plan must be approved by the township Zoning Hearing Board.

The board will hear from representatives of Beth David Reform Congregation regarding the plan.

The Gladwyne synagogue wants conditional use approval to expand its existing use and add a preschool to the existing educational facilities.

According to the township, the expansion would allow the synagogue to provide preschool services for up to 90 students Monday through Friday at its location, 1130 Vaughans Lane in Gladwyne.

As part of the proposal, student drop-offs and pick-ups are proposed limited to 7:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The township said total enrollment for all educational uses will not exceed the 280-student limit.

A hearing will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20.

Public participation is permitted at the hearing.

Comments will be accepted until noon on Feb. 20.
