Villanova Law School Receives $5M Gift

The gift will be used to establish The David F. and Constance B. Girard-diCarlo Center for Ethics, Integrity and Compliance.

Villanova University Law School has received a $5 million gift, the university announced this week.

The gift comes from David F. Girard-diCarlo, Class of 1973, a retired U.S. ambassador to Austria, and his wife, Constance B. Girard-diCarlo, Class of 1974, a former senior executive at ARAMARK Corporation, the university said.

The gift will be used to establish The David F. and Constance B. Girard-diCarlo Center for Ethics, Integrity and Compliance, a center “dedicated to the exploration and research of ethics and compliance.”

“Adhering to high ethical standards in your profession and encouraging others with whom you interact to do the same can and will create a culture that promotes achievement,” David and Connie Girard-diCarlo said in a statement. “ It is our hope and expectation that this new center will reinforce the importance of fostering an environment based on ethics and integrity not only in law and business but also in life. We are honored to have our names associated with such an important mission.”

The gift falls under the university’s Comprehensive Capital Campaign, which to date has raised $408 million of its $600 million goal.
