Whiz Kid: All-Around Star Caitlin Livesey

Livesey, an eighth grader at Rosemont School of the Holy Child, seems to do it all.

Editor's note: This is a weekly series in which we will highlight the special accomplishments of neighborhood kids or teenagers.

Each week, we will seek suggestions from readers for individual kids, youth groups, teens and even sports teams that wow us with their accomplishments. We want to hear about these amazing children and teens and select one each week as our Whiz Kid.  Submit your nomination in our comment box below or e-mail the information to danielle.vickery@patch.com.

She qualified in the sixth grade to take the SATs as a Johns Hopkins Scholar, as a result of her Educational Records Bureau test results.

She participates on the stage crew for the school play and is a member of the school’s handbell choir. Caitlin is also on the Class of 2011 yearbook, is a Reading Olympics participant, was a class representative for the student government in third and seventh grades, and takes additional art classes outside of school.

- Key to awesomeness: Caitlin says she likes drawing and reading. She especially enjoys drawing nature scenes and flowers, and she likes reading mystery books and fantasy, including an Agatha Christie book she read once.

Her favorite subjects in school are science and social studies—she particularly likes doing experiments in science and is interested in American history.

Caitlin says she plans to go to Notre Dame Academy for high school and might want to be a chef when she gets older. She likes making desserts and pastries and has been cooking for as long as she can remember.

Caitlin’s advice for other students would be “to work hard and keep trying to reach their goals,” she said.
