Chartiers Valley School District ranked in the Top 50 of area high schools for best state standardized test scores.
Chartiers Valley High School students ranked 35th in combined SAT scores, according to the Pittsburgh Business Times.
The combined SAT score of 1,499 in 2012 was an increase of 2.5 percent over the previous year.

"We’re hopeful this is indicative of the overall focus on increasing academic rigor throughout the Chartiers Valley School District," the district said in a written statement. "While we’re happy about this accomplishment, we recognize that the results of a single test aren't a comprehensive measure of success. As we move forward, we remain focused on increasing academic rigor and providing our students with an exceptional academic foundation."
South Fayette High School ranked 11th in the region with combined SAT scores of 1,589. Upper St. Clair ranked first overall, while Mt. Lebanon ranked third and Peters Township finished sixth.
