Snow Emergency Declared in Philadelphia

All parked cars must be moved off Snow Emergency Routes by 6 p.m. for plowing, the city announced.

A snow emergency is in place in Philadelphia starting Monday at 6 p.m. All parked cars must be moved off Snow Emergency Routes by 6 pm for plowing, the city announced. ”If you do not move your vehicle, it may be relocated,” according to an announcement from the city.

Also this week, due to the snow:

  • Rear driveway trash and recycling collections will be cancelled. Trash and recycling must be placed curbside for pick up. Crews will not pick up in the rear driveways.
  • Tuesday trash collections are cancelled. Residents who receive Tuesday trash collections must hold their materials until for pickup next Tuesday, February 3.
  • Sidewalks must be cleared of all snow and ice. A path of 36” wide is required within six hours of the end of a storm.
  • Don’t throw snow into the street as it hampers salting and plowing operations.
