Town Hall Meeting: Terry Tracy who is running for city controller as a Republican will host a town hall meeting Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. at the Commodore Berry Club in Mt. Airy at the intersection of Emlen Street and Carpenter Lane.

Enter the Photo Contest: The Chestnut Hill Community Association is holding a photo contest for local photographers who's pictures could be featured in a calendar put out by the association later this year.  Click here for more information.

This day in history: On Aug. 27, 1908, Lyndon B. Johnson was born.  Johnson would go on to become president after JFK was assassinated in 1963.
