Free MovieOn Tuesday, August 13 at 1 p.m. enjoy "Movies and Munchies" at the Chestnut Hill Center for Enrichment located at 8431 Germantown Ave.  Please use the side entrance.Watch the story of Antarctica's Emperor penguins unfold on our big-screen HDTV. 2005 documentary narrated by Morgan Freeman. "March of the Penguins" (2 hours). Refreshments available.

Ice Cream SocialThe Friends of the Wissahickon will host an Ice Cream Social on Wednesday, August 21, at 3 p.m., on the front lawn of their offices located at 8708 Germantown Ave. in Philadelphia. his event features free ice cream, music, environmental activities for the whole family, and the chance to meet with FOW’s staff and volunteers. Members of the Friends of the Wissahickon are encouraged to wear their FOW t-shirts and hats.

Opera Under the Stars: Seniors, head down to the Germantown Jewish Centre on Wednesday, August 21 at 7:30 p.m. for Opera Under the Stars.  From the organizers: "Which opera contains: the destruction of the First  Temple, a prophet, a conversion, captivity in Babylon, a plea to God, all in addition to a love story? The answer: Nabucco, Verdi's first great success. Wine & cheese provided, along with some seating. If you wish, bring your own lawn chairs, blankets and favorite bottle of wine.
