Cheers! Hundreds Attend Zelienople Beer and Music Fest
The first Zelie On Tap & Unplugged featured craft brews, music and more.
The day was warm, the brews were cold and the music was rocking Saturday as the hundreds of people milled around Zelienople Park for Zelie On Tap & Unplugged.
Sponsored by The Friends of the Park and the Community Park Association, the event featured a variety of craft beers from local breweries.
The also were free concerts scheduled throughout the day, including Scott, Rob and Greg of The Clarks, and plenty of food.
Marry Hess, who helped organize the event, said about 700 people attended the festival. Based on the success of Saturday's event, She said she already is planning to hold another beer and music fest next year.
A dedication ceremony also was held at the event for the James A. Ayers Sr. Amphitheatre. The Ayers family donated the money for the amphitheatre to honor Ayers, a businessman and community volunteer.
The tiered lawn venue sits on the top of the hill near the large rotary shelter in the park.
