Cranberry's North Boundary Park To Debut Dog-Friendly Areas
Find out here which portions of the park your dog can visit.
CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, PA - A portion of North Boundary Park will soon allow canine companions for the first time, and a ceremony marking the change will occur Nov. 16 at 9:30 a.m. at the Penn Power Shelter.
Donuts and coffee will be provided by Rollaway Dog Café and All Home Pet Care and a "pack walk" will follow immediately afterward.
For the first time, leashed dogs will be permitted at the North Boundary Disc Golf Course and nature trail areas. With that allowance comes new rules outlined on signage placed at various areas in the park. Paw prints painted on the trails also show where dogs are permitted.

In conjunction with the opening, a team of volunteer ambassadors has been assembled to roam the trails at peak hours and inform pet owners of the rules. The group’s goal is education, not confrontation, officials said. Those violating the rules, which will be enforced by township police, potentially face a $35 fine.
With the new program, Cranberry now boasts three dog-friendly areas, including the Brush Creek Trail Extension off Commonwealth Drive, two miles of trails in North Boundary and the dog park in Community Park.
