Five Things You Need to Know This Week

1. Cranberry Planning Advisory Commission
Get the scoop on what developments are in the works for Cranberry. The commission holds its workshop meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday, April 29 at the Cranberry Township Municipal Building on Rochester Road.
2. Money Matters Seminar
Now in its tenth year, “Money Matters” is part of The Campaign for Wise and Safe Investing® Pennsylvania, a collaboration between the AARP Foundation, the Investor Protection Trust, the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities and AARP Pennsylvania.
This year’s seminar takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 30 at the Pittsburgh Marriott North in Cranberry Township. It is free and open to the public.

3. Rain Barrel Class
Learn about water conservation, storm water control and how to install your rain barrel. Presented by Haine Middle School and Cranberry Township at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, at the this class is co-sponsored by Home Depot and Fiskars.

The $30 fee includes a rain barrel. Registration is limited to residents of Cranberry and Seven Fields. Click here for more information.
4. Cranberry Dance for Pre-Teens
Cranberry’s Parks & Recreation Department is hosting its first-ever casual dance for those ages 10 to 12 from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday, May 3 at the Cranberry Municipal Center.
The theme of the chaperoned dance is "Lights, Camera, Action" and features a red carpet. There also will be food and drink available for purchase on site.
While parents do not need to stay for the three-hour staff-supervised dance, they will need to sign their son/daughter in and out of the building during both drop-off and pick up.
5. National Aviary at Cranberry Public Library
Birds are special and specialized. Come and discover their unique characteristics, and meet species with the most amazing feet, feathers, and beaks.
All ages are invited and welcome to attend this fun filled family program from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 5 at the Cranberry Public Library. For more information call 724-776-9100 or register in person at the library.
