1. 1 charge dismissed, 3 held for court after latest hearing for Oilology owner (butlereagle.com) — A Cranberry Township resident’s complaint about her car led to three misdemeanor charges being held for court against the former owner of the now-closed Oilology repair shop. After testimony that a customer’s vehicle was returned with hundreds of extra miles and unfamiliar items inside, a judge dismissed one charge but allowed others to proceed. Cranberry Township police have temporarily withdrawn three similar cases while deciding whether to refile.

2. Dozens of new businesses set to open in Cranberry Township (butlereagle.com) — Cranberry Township is set for a major boost in dining, shopping, and services this year, with dozens of new businesses opening along Routes 19, 228, Freedom Road, and Rowan Road. From Shake Shack, Wingstop, and hibachi spots to salons, fitness studios, pet retailers, and professional offices, township planners say most of the new locations should open sometime in 2026.
   

3. Teegan Finucan leads Knoch boys basketball to win over North Catholic: ‘We've been waiting for this' (butlereagle.com) — Fans in Cranberry Township saw Knoch avenge last year’s one-point loss by beating North Catholic 65-56 on the Trojans’ home court. Senior guard Teegan Finucan poured in 25 points as Knoch’s zone defense cooled North Catholic’s usually high-scoring offense, setting up an intriguing rematch when the teams meet again in early February.
   

4. Authorities identify victims in fatal I-80 crash in Tunkhannock Township (fox56.com) — One of the two men killed in a single-vehicle crash on I-80 in Monroe County has been identified as a 25-year-old from Cranberry. State police say both victims died at the scene from blunt force injuries, and the deaths were ruled accidental. Investigators from the Fern Ridge barracks are still working to determine what led to the crash.
