Strand Theater to Donate Portion of Proceeds from Ricky Nelson Concert to Red Cross Relief Efforts in Oklahoma
The concert features Nelson's twin sons, Matthew and Gunnar.

The Strand Theater in Zelienople is using rock 'n roll to help support Red Cross relief efforts in Oklahoma after a series of devastating tornadoes hit the area.
The theater will donate a portion of the ticket sales from its Ricky Nelson Remembered concert on Saturday, June 8 to Red Cross disaster relief.
The concert will feature Nelson’s twin sons, Matthew and Gunnar.
Nelson fans will remember Matthew and Gunnar had no. 1 song, "(Can't Live Without Your) Love & Affection," on the Billboard charts in the 1990s.
The mega hit put the Nelson family in the Guinness Book of Worlds as the only family in entertainment history with three generations of no. 1 hit makers, according to The Strand.
Show times for Ricky Nelson Remembered take place at 2 and 8 p.m.
“We are so appreciative for the Strand Theater’s support and generosity,” said Kevin Brown, executive director of the local Red Cross. “As a nonprofit organization that does not receive government funding, we rely on the kindness of individuals, companies and organizations, like the Strand Theater, to fulfill our humanitarian mission and help people in need.”
Tickets to the show are $25 to $35 for reserve seating.
Matthew and Gunnar Nelson also have donated an autographed guitar and a private dinner at Herbe’s Z-Town Café in Zelienople for themselves and two guests.
Both items will be auctioned online at TheStrandTheater.org until 6 p.m. Friday.
All proceeds from these auctions will be donated to the Red Cross and its relief efforts in Oklahoma.
Donations for the Red Cross also will be accepted at the concert—but it doesn’t end there.
The Strand also will donate $1 of every movie ticket sold through the end of June to the Red Cross.
