Beechview Merchants Go 'Cruising on Broadway'

Saturday was a busy day in Beechview.

Beechview was busy Saturday morning, as local merchants lined the streets to show off Beechview's best.

"Cruising on Broadway" was hosted by the Beechview Merchants Association in partnership with the IGA on Broadway.

The main attraction of the morning was the classic car cruise, which started at the IGA and continued up the street to the Beechview branch office of State Sen. Wayne Fontana.

The Carnegie Library of Beechview hosted its annual book and flower sale Saturday, the Lion's Club and local boy scout troops planted flowers at the Wenzell Avenue garden, and Pretty Up Beechview hosted its annual flower planting day as well.

The IGA also used the day to kick off the second in a series of , an event the owners said they hope to host more frequently.
