Brookline Baby Found With Cocaine In System; Parents Arrested
The parents of the six-week-old infant are facing multiple charges.
BROOKLINE, PA — The parents of a six-week old baby remain free Monday following their arrest after cocaine was found in the infant's system.
Matthew Bell, 43, and Lindsay Satterfield, 38, were charged with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child, drug possession and other counts. Police said Bell told them he and Satterfield used crack cocaine and handled the drug with their hands prior to handling the baby boy.
The infant was taken to UPMC Children's Hospital last week after a pediatrician found him severely malnourished during a routine exam. After tests found cocaine in the baby's system, police obtained a search warrant for Bell and Satterfield's Woodbourne Avenue residence and found heroin stamp bags, used syringes and crack pipes in the home.
