Brookline Man Charged In Dormont Bank Robbery
A Brookline man is in custody after being accused of a Dormont bank holdup Wednesday.

DORMONT-BROOKLINE, PA — A Brookline man is in the Allegheny County Jail after being charged with robbing a Dormont bank. Ahmed Ali Asiri, 26, is accused of holding up the Dollar Bank in the 3000 block of West Liberty Avenue.
According to police, shortly before 4 p.m. on Wednesday, a man wearing a surgical mask handed a note to a teller demanding money. The note indicated people would be killed unless the demand was met.
No weapon was observed. The robber fled the scene with an undetermined amount of money.

Allegheny County police, the FBI Violent Crime Task Force and Dormont police investigated the incident and soon obtained a lead of the vehicle the suspect used in the robbery.
On Thursday, police executed a search warrant in the 700 block of Brookline Boulevard. Several items, including the stolen cash and the vehicle, were found at the home, police said.
