Dormont Police Chase Ends In Liberty Bridge Crash

Reports of shots fired in the normally quiet suburban community led to the chase, police said.

DORMONT, PA — A police pursuit that began when officers responded to a shots fired report in Dormont ended in an early morning crash on the Liberty Bridge Friday.

The car crashed on the bridge near the ramp leading to the Boulevard of the Allies shortly before 5 a.m. Police said at least three people were taken by am ambulance from the crash scene and numerous media reports stated that one person was led away in handcuffs.

WPXI-TV reported that the incident began on Broadway Avenue at around 4:30 a.m.
