Off-Duty Police Officer Beaten, Strangled At Pittsburgh Bar
Three people face criminal charges in connection with the assault on the Pittsburgh police detective.
BROOKLINE, PA — A Brookline woman was arrested for allegedly assaulting an off-duty Pittsburgh police detective who is investigating her son.
The incident occurred Saturday night at the Brook Line & Sinker bar on Brookline Boulevard.
According to police, Angie Hindman, 44, approached attacked Michelle McHenry inside the bar after telling the officer that her son didn't do anything. Hindman then dragged McHenry outside, punched and strangled her while yelling at her, police said.

A surveillance camera showed McHenry was struck 17 times, according to police. Her face was severely swollen and she had marks around her neck consistent with strangulation, police said.
McHenry was treated for her injuries at a hospital.

Hindman was charged with assault, strangulation and retaliation against a witness. She has a preliminary hearing on Nov. 18.
Two others were arrested in connection with the attack. Matthew Hindman, 41, and Brianna Holland, 23 were charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct.
