KO Girls Finish Section Play With a Win

The Keystone Oaks girls' softball team finished section play with a win Saturday night.

The girls' softball team finished their section play Saturday with a 9-5 win over Avonworth. The win puts the Lady Eagles in second place in section 1 AA with a record of 11-3.

Kiersten Badzgon earned her tenth win of the season and was perfect at the plate with two singles, a double and a solo homerun. Kaitlin Reis chipped in two hits, a double and a triple, while Eryn Caragein added another solo homerun in the win. Maryssa Agurs went 2 for 2 and Tabatha Wilson added a double.

Badzgon, Caragein and Meghan Staab added 4 stolen bases to raise the season total to 120. The team batting average remains strong at .365.

The team will finish the regular season Tuesday at Hemlock Field in Green Tree against non-section Steel Valley. Seniors Gabby Davis, Abby Palmer and Nicole Fievet will be recognized at 6 p.m.
