Pittsburgh Police Officer Injured In Brookline Domestic Incident

The officer was hurt after responding to a domestic incident on Brookline Boulevard.

BROOKLINE, PA — A Pittsburgh police officer was injured while responding to a domestic incident in the 500 block of Brookline Boulevard.

Police were summoned to the scene on Tuesday, shortly before 4 a.m., Pittsburgh public safety officials said.

When responding units arrived, a male was inside a vehicle that officers surrounded on foot. The male reversed the vehicle, striking a police cruiser and causing an officer to jump out of the way
to avoid being struck.

She hit her head on a curb and was transported to the hospital by medics in stable condition with neck and wrist pain.

The suspect vehicle then hit another vehicle before fleeing. He later wrecked the car at the bottom of Pioneer Avenue and ran through a wooded area on foot. Officers caught up with him near London Towne Road, where he was taken into custody.

The male was transported for alcohol testing. Multiple charges are expected, public safety officials said.
