Suspect In Brookline Bank Robbery Apprehended

Timothy Sowinski faces multiple charges in connection with a Brookline bank robbery in August.

BROOKLINE, PA — United State Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force and the Pittsburgh Police Fugitive Apprehension Unit have made an arrest in connection with an August bank robbery in Brookline.

Timothy Sowinski, 53, was arrested Wednesday in the South Side. He was wanted for the robbery of the Community Bank in Brookline on August 26.

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety officials, the suspect presented a note demanding money and threatened firearm use. No firearm was observed.

He left with an undisclosed amount of money.

Sowinski is currently in the Allegheny County jail. He has been charged with robbery and receiving stolen property.
