2 Arrested On Assault Charges, Thefts Reported In Doylestown Twp.

During the month of December, police also investigated a burglary, made three DUI arrests and investigated 12 incidents of fraud.

DOYLESTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — The Doylestown Township Police Department handled 700 calls for service during the month of December. There were 50 traffic accidents, 18 traffic citations
and 93 traffic warnings were issued.

Police reported the following incidents and arrests during the month:

Assault

  • On Dec. 3, officers responded to a physical domestic dispute between a father and adult son. A 69-year-old man was taken into custody for the assault.
  • On Dec. 9, officers responded to a physical domestic dispute. A 46-year-old woman was taken into custody for assault.

Burglary

  • On Dec. 5, officers investigated a burglary at Pine Run Community. A male gained access and entered a vacant structure on the property.

Theft

  • On Dec. 5, 0fficers responded to the Pine Run Community for the report of a theft from a vehicle. Articles of clothing were taken at an unknown time.
  • On Dec. 6, officers investigated a theft of money from the Well of Life Center. This case is still under investigation.
  • There were numerous package theft complaints during the month.
  • On Dec. 29, officers responded to the Giant food store for the report of a retail theft. A shopping cart full of baby formula was taken. The value was unknown.

Fraud

  • There were 12 reports of fraud. The Doylestown Township community is reminded to ensure they are communicating with a legitimate company before offering personally identifiable information or financial information. No company will require payment via store gift cards and rarely cryptocurrency. Families and friends are encouraged to educate their elderly family members about fraud because they are at a higher risk of becoming a victim.

Criminal Mischief

  • On Dec. 16, officers responded to Barnes and Nobles for vandalism of a bathroom door causing $125 in damage.

Driving Under the Influence

  • On Dec. 15, a 21-year-old man was taken into custody for DUI on South Easton Road.
  • On Dec. 20, officers investigated a hit and run accident on Hart Avenue. A 66-year-old woman was taken into custody for DUI.
  • On Dec. 28, a 23-year-old man was taken into custody for DUI on S. Easton Road.

Fire Response

  • On Dec. 26, 0fficers along with Doylestown, Midway and the Lingohocken fire companies responded to a home on Swamp Road for a garage fire. Doylestown Township Fire Marshall responded for investigation.
