Family

I've got four kids in the district attending Kutztown Elementary School, Lenape Middle School and Central Bucks High School West.

Why are you seeking elective office?

I'm interested in bringing my private sector financial experience to the board. The district is facing its first budget deficit in many years. I'm hoping we can return to normal in the 2021-2022 school year, and there's some interest in ensuring that curriculum is focused on our core subjects and ensuring that the kids are getting their best education possible to keep us in the lead.

The single most pressing issue facing our (board, district, etc.) is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

In the short term, the biggest issue is getting the superintendent search and interview process up and running as quickly as possible. It would be great if we could start the new year with someone in the seat, and we're working hard to do that. COVID continues to be an issue we're tangling with. Teachers and administrators have had a really difficult year, and I'd like to see some recognition for their hard work. Looking at the budget for next year, we've got a roughly $6 million shortfall, and we need to look for ways to shore that up for this year and going forward.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I look to past history as an indicator of future performance, and I have had a successful career in the pharmaceutical industry. I think I bring a track record of being able to work with people across the board. I'm a father, a parent and I have a deep interest in making sure children are educated and raised correctly. The schools are the heart of our community.

The best advice ever shared with me was:

My father would say, "When dealing with others, use your heart. When dealing with yourself, use your head."
